Have you ever dreamed of living with little or no stress, and is that even possible? Do you even know how to get to that goal? Of course things happen in our lives that can cause severe distress, but I’m talking about learning to manage daily stress. The way we set up our lives, the expectations we establish, have a lot to do with the types of stress we experience.

Have you ever taken the time to make a list of things that you wanted out of the following:

  • Life,

  • Food,

  • A career,

  • Friends,

  • Family,

  • Relationships,

  • A vacation,

  • Sleeping,

  • A shoe,

  • Education

  • Etc…

In planning your life, you must become aware of what will cause distress and eustress.

Distress can be defined as negative pressure, which undermine things that nourish actions that produce our:

  • dreams,
  • goals or positive expectations.

Now, there is an opposite type of stress to consider which is called Eustress.

Eustress can be defined as positive pressure, which support actions that nourish things that produce our:

  • dreams,
  • goals or positive expectations and wants.

These concepts: Eustress and Distress can be utilized to establish a continuum to process what type of stress we are expressing and why. Again, I challenge you, to take the time to make a list of things that you want out the list provided above.

This time through employing the prospectives of "Eustress" and "Distress," managing stress, will become something that can possibly be a goal that one could attempt, and accomplish.
