We can problem solve until the cows fly on how to market our business for
low cost. The truth is there are many unscrupulous people out there braking
many laws in the name of public speaking who are not with Speakers Match.
Going into high schools and recruiting kids with telling them that they
also could make the money and actually telling the kids what they make.
Would it not be better to become the best professional and obey laws to to
get the work. This is also a benefit to those who hire speakers. They are
acting as a agent and would be held responsible. I may be new as a speaker
to Speaker match, but I have 31 years teaching business. My eyes are open
to the laws that are being broken. Back of the room sales at non profits
that have nothing to do with the mission statement of the non profit. Under
ground economy as people use people as employees, that are not. The list
goes on and on. We need to be more professional then the rest of the
world.Honest, reliable. The event planners need to have the faith that we
are not going to get up and do unethical things. The idea of a speaker
going into a high school and telling kids that he makes 15,000 dollars a
hour makes my blood boil. Having kids sign up for classes, while the public
school is paying his wages in my opinion is not ethical. Percent of door
sales for speaking at schools, all this need to not be accepted. So my
opinion is like H.G.TV, demo before you build. Then build it on solid
ground.Honesty, and integrity. Following all the laws.
